NAD ITS Internships

The NAD IT Internship program exists to encourage our young people to work for the church, specifically in IT. This program is designed to recruit and retain young people to serve in some Information Technology capacity within the Church. There are many avenues of service available within IT….from Developers, to Systems Administrators, from Security, to Infrastructure and Cloud Management.  The Seventh day Adventist Church places a very high value in our young people who are pursuing a career in IT, and may be interested in serving Jesus through the ministry of IT! The Church understands that we need to redouble our efforts to retain the talent that is graduating from our colleges and universities!

Below are four documents that details the program requirements, the applications, and the remuneration schedules. The first document is an exact copy of the ITS Internship program policies, as found within the NAD Working Policy (policy C 66 in the red book). The second document is the actual intern application, the third document is the application for the NAD entity (the employer) to complete. The last attachment is the Internship Program Requirements. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact NAD ITS. This program has been in place for the past dozen years.

The approval process is fairly straightforward. The local conference (or Union, College/University) would vote to fund their portion of the intern. Once a candidate has been identified, the respective Union approves their portion of the funding (if applicable), and finally, both applications and a record of the approved action is returned to NAD ITS, for the NAD ITS Director to present to NADCOA for final approval. The internship funding lasts up to two years per intern.

As you make plans for the upcoming budget year, please consider this Internship program, so that we may continue to encourage our young people interested in IT, all across our Division, to consider denominational employment. It’s our belief, and our prayer, that if we engage our young people before they work in the world, we may be more likely to retain them, their talents, their enthusiasm, their ideas, and ultimately their ministry inside the Church!

Please let us know if you have any questions. May the Lord bind us together, so that we can finish this Work and go home!
